"company protocol" blah blah blah...

doesn't it shit you when you try to get something done and you are suddenly faced with some moron (usually some old fuddy duddy) who says "no, we cant do that, it's against company policy"

this happens far too often to me... am i alone here??

take for instance, what has happened to me just now... i tried to put a claim through to my health insurance compant for my visit to the chiropractor on tuesday morning. she asked me if i had the receipt in my hand, i said no, it's at home and she said that she wasn't going to put the claim through, just in case i got the date i visited the chiro wrong. she started going on some rant about "so many people give us incorrect dates and we have to re-key claims all the time" to which i replied "wow, your fingers must get so sore!"

all i had to supply her with was the date of service, my chiros name (which is already on my file) and the amount (which has been the same amount i pay there every 6 weeks - $46)

i told her that i was going to get a copy faxed to me and would call her back... i'll just rattle some random sheet of paper in the background of my return phone call to the poor broad with the incredibly stressful job of answering calls and typing on a keyboard... sucks to be her, the stupid bitch

the other week i went into Haighs in the city (it's a chocolate store for those non south astrayans) to buy some chocolate frogs for some people at work (ok and a couple for me too). i asked the lady if i could open the 10 pack of frogs and put a couple in a haigs paper bag thing that they use for all the loose chocolate that they sell. "i'm sorry, but we aren't able to do that"... WHAT?!! no, you aren't allowed to have a bag from haighs, even though i just spent $12 on some chocolate.

it's not like i was going to do a turd in the bag and hand it to someone.

have you had to deal with any 'company policy' brick walls? there are so many out there...
